Ikarian Centre’s guesthouse is located in a rural area outside the settlement of Arethousa in North Ikaria. The are is ideal for hiking, bird watching, relaxing and studying. It consists of 4 independent buildings and includes 9 rooms and common areas for working, eating, studying or relaxing. Common areas help our residents develop a healthy sociability. Tranquility and direct contact with nature are key features of staying here. On clear nights you can enjoy the sight of the galaxy and the starry sky. In Arethousa, a settlement of 100 inhabitants (1.5Km, 15 minutes on foot) you can find a cafe and a tavern. In Karavostamo (3Km, less than 10′ by car and 20′ from the path) several taverns, grocery stores, cafes and bars operate all year round. The port of northern Ikaria, Evdilos, is 8 km away.

We offer accommodation in private rooms. Each room has a separate external entrance, private bathroom and kitchenette where our guest can prepare their breakfast and simple meals. Each room can accommodate up to 2 adults. What you won’t find in our guesthouse is air conditioning and TV. There is natural ventilation in all the rooms and at night they are cool and quiet enough for a good sleep. If you want to work online you can use the shared workspaces. We occasionally organize activities such as traditional dance lessons and hikes on the local trails. If you want to visit other settlements, swim in nearby or more remote beaches or explore the island, you should rent a car.

Ikarian Center is a Greek language school for non-native speakers and has been offering Greek language courses in Ikaria since 1995. Our guesthouse has been created to host our Greek language courses. We also offer hiking weeks on the island’s trails to our guests. More information can be found on our website.
